Burnham-On-Sea fire crews rescue man stranded in icy lake

-

Fire crews in Burnham-On-Sea used ropes and ladders to rescue a man who became trapped in a lake in Highbridge on Wednesday (December 22nd).

Two fire engines and an ambulance rushed to Apex Park at 3pm after a man got into difficulty in one of the lakes.

“Crews used a throw line and triple ladder to rescue the male, who had fallen down a bank and had his feet in the lake,” fire spokesman Paul Slavin told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “He had entered the water to try and retrieve his dog.”

The middle-aged man was checked over by paramedics before being sent home. His dog was unharmed.
