GCSE students in the Burnham-On-Sea area were celebrating on Thursday (August 22nd) after achieving an excellent set of results.

For a third year running, the students at Highbridge’s King Alfred School performed well with 58% achieving the headline figure of five or more grades at ‘C’ or above, including English and Maths.

Headteacher Andy Owen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Without any question the changes made by the Secretary of State for Education nationally to make the core GCSE subjects harder are significantly impacting on the school.”
