A volunteer at Burnham-On-Sea’s lifeboat station has been presented with a medal to recognise her help over the years.
Mary Summers, who received a bronze badge for her volunteering duties, said she was “tickled pink” at the surprise.
RNLI CEO Paul Boissier and Somerset’s High Sheriff presented the badge during a visit to the station last week.
Mary has occupied many roles over the years including box secretary, souvenir secretary and has been a member of the education team.
Paul said: “It was fabulous to see the station looking so good and with such a positive can do attitude. It is an important station and the work they do really matters to the local community.”
A volunteer from Street, Ian Michell, also received a bronze award the same day.
