MP praises work of Burnham-On-Sea drug rehabilitation centre

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP has made a special visit to a residential drug and rehabilitation centre in the town this week where she praised the work of its staff.

Tessa Munt visited Somewhere House in Berrow Road, where she met staff and clients and visited the new group facility room where specialist activities take place to help people battle addiction.

Somewhere House was founded in 2006 to support individuals who have made a decision to live a life free from addiction.

The centre has enough beds to accommodate 12 clients and runs a person-centred programme where individuals are able to stay for a maximum of six months.

During this time, clients also contribute to the local community by undertaking voluntary work in the local area as part of the process.

The centre also provides clients with ongoing support after they complete the programme and leave.

Tessa told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This is a fantastic new facility for this centre which provides a vital service locally where the need is great. I realise just how important Somewhere House is for our area, it has an extremely good success rate with its clients and stands out as a fantastic example of a true local service for people with addiction.”
