A massive 22lb 10oz cod has been landed in the sea off Burnham-On-Sea by a local fisherman.
Steven George from Bridgwater, reeled in the monster catch while on his boat Heron almost three miles from Burnham during December.
The Burnham Boat Owners Sea Angling Association member said: “He put up quite a fight and it took 15 minutes to get the fish on to the boat. I used half a squid as bait to catch him.”
It’s one of several large cod to be caught in the waters around Burnham in recent months, as first reported here by Burnham-On-Sea.com.
