Police said on Monday (January 17th) that a second person had been arrested following a serious stabbing in Highbridge at the weekend that has left a man in a critical condition.
As first reported here at the weekend, officers were called to Charlotte Court at just before 5.25pm on Saturday evening when a 37-year-old male suffered serious injuries in an assault.
A man in his 30s has handed himself in at Taunton Police Station and has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.
And a woman, aged 25, who was arrested on Saturday, is continuing to help police with their enquiries.
As pictured above, police remain at the scene today (Monday) as a detailed examination by crime scene investigators continues.
Police told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the victim, who was rushed to Weston General Hospital on Saturday, continues to be in a “stable, but critical condition.”
Part of the car park outside the building was sealed off with police tape throughout Sunday while officers gathered evidence.
Members of a crime scene investigation unit spent part of the day taking photos of a trail of blood in the car park which led away from the taped-off entrance to Charlotte Court.
Meanwhile, police have appealed for any witnesses to the incident to contact them via Taunton CID on 0845 4567000.
