Burnham and Highbridge Choral Society is inviting local residents to join its ranks this evening (Thursday, 5th September) as it begins its autumn programme.
As reported here earlier in the summer, the society is now led by new Musical Director Nicholas Bromilow, who has plenty of fresh ideas and is keen to begin a new and exciting era for the group.
“This would be an ideal time to join this friendly, relaxed Choral Society. Why not come on this adventure with us – we will be starting on Thursday at 7.30pm in the Methodist Church Hall, College Street, Burnham. There are no auditions,” said a spokeswoman.
“We’re a mixed choir so ladies and gents are welcome, as are all ages. Male voices – tenors, baritones and basses – are especially welcome.”
The society’s Christmas programme this year includes music from Handel’s Messiah, Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, plus music from Rutter, Berlioz and traditional carols.
Although reading music is an advantage, it’s not necessary. The first three weeks will be free. For more information, contact Bev Hearn on 01934 732041 or email the group’s secretary at jane.lee36@btinternet.com
