Police in Highbridge appealed for witnesses on Thursday morning (December 28th) as they investigated a fail-to-stop accident in the town.

At around 10.30am on Christmas Eve, an elderly female pedestrian was crossing Bank Street at the junction with Market Street when she was involved in a collision with what was believed to be a silver or grey coloured car.

A police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This car did not stop at the scene and headed towards the Bank Street Car Park.”

“The woman suffered a suspected fractured hip as a result of the collision.”

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may recognise the vehicle involved. You can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
