One of Burnham-On-Sea’s longest running companies has been taken over this week and is set to be renamed.
JH Palmer and Sons Estate Agents in the High Street was established in 1851 and just been taken over by the huge property chain Greenslade Taylor Hunt.
JH Palmer office manager Chris Way told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Wednesday (January 3rd): “JH Palmer’s senior partner was very sadly diagnosed with cancer two years ago and due to ill health he has reluctantly decided to sell the business on.”
“It does therefore mean that one of Burnham’s longest running business names will disappear later this year when Greenslade Taylor Hunt takes over.”
“Our staff only learned about the news yesterday, so there are still lots of things still to be sorted, but there will be no job losses and the company will continue to sell and rent property throughout the Burnham area.”
Greenslade Taylor Hunt has 12 offices throughout the South West and its signage is expected to be moved into position over the High Street shop during the next 6-8 weeks.
