Burnham-On-Sea’s decorative seafront lights have this week been switched off until the start of the Spring holiday season.
The 43 lights were illuminated along The Esplanade over the Christmas period to complement the decorations along the High Street.
However, several of the lights have not been working correctly during recent months following problems with time clocks installed by the manufacturer.
Therefore, a local electrical company has been drafted in by the Town Council to resolve the problems. Further repairs will be made before they are switched on again in time for Easter.
There are a total of 43 decorative lights along the seafront, sixteen of which were launched last April and 27 the previous year. The lights stretch from Quantock Court at the southern end of The Esplanade to St Andrew’s Church at the northern end.
