Burnham-On-Sea MP Tessa Munt a ‘Pointless’ answer on TV show

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s MP Tessa Munt has laughed off being called ‘pointless’ during a national TV show.

She featured in Thursday’s episode of the BBC1 quiz show Pointless where contestants were asked to name a female MP elected for the first time in 2010.

However, the show has a twist since the players had to name someone that none of 100 survey takers would have said.

Contestants Simon and Becky avoided the topic and instead opted for MPs first elected in the 1970s and political parties with 100,000 votes or more. They won £3,250.

Tessa can take heart she was not singled out as a pointless answer and just had the fortune to appear on the game board. Only eight female MPs scored points, leaving the rest pointless.

On hearing about the TV show, Ms Munt laughed it off and said: “It’s a privilege and an honour.”
