Young Burnham-On-Sea football players get a day to remember

-

Members of Burnham United’s Under 8s team had a day to remember at the weekend when they were invited to a top Bristol City match and welcomed the players onto the pitch.

The group of 12 youngsters formed a guard of honour at Ashton Gate and waved flags, as pictured here, as the players from Leeds and City ran out to loud cheers from the supporters at the start of the game.

“It was a fantastic atmosphere and a wonderful afternoon. We travelled up from Burnham by coach with the parents and after forming the guard of honour, we watched the game from the stands,” Burnham United Under 8s Manager Duncan Keates told Burnham-On-Sea.com.

“We were treated really well and everyone had a great afternoon. It all happened because we noticed on a website last year that young teams can apply to do this. It all lived up to expectations!”
