Gripping new crime novel is set around Burnham-On-Sea

-

Burnham-On-Sea features in two new crime novels from an author who lived in the town for over 30 years.

‘As The Crow Flies’ is the first in a series of fictional stories from Damien Boyd, who also has second book, ‘Head in the Sand’ set to be published soon.

The first novel is centered around the work of fictional Brent Knoll Detective Inspector Nick Dixon, who is based at Bridgwater Criminal Investigation Department.

Damien explains how it all unfolds: “Detective Inspector Nick Dixon’s former climbing partner, Jake Fayter, is killed in a fall whilst practising a new route on High Rock at Cheddar Gorge. Convinced that Jake would not have made such a simple mistake, Nick starts digging and uncovers a web of intrigue and criminal activity that will rock the sleepy seaside town of Burnham to its core. As the body count rises, Dixon is forced to break every rule in the book and put his own life on the line to bring the killer out into the open.”

When he’s not writing books, Damien works in private practice as a solicitor but has years many spent working as an employee of the Crown Prosecution Service which has helped the authenticity of his writing.

Damien’s family was bombed out of Bristol during the war and lived in Herbert Road in Burnham for more than 50 years. It was Damien’s home for 30 years and he went to St Dunstan’s School in Rectory Road.

‘As The Crow Flies’ is available in paperback now via Amazon here.
