Budding artists in the Burnham-On-Sea area are being invited to brush up their painting skills at a new training course starting in the town on March 1st.
Somerset Skills and Learning is launching the course, called ‘Painting in a Range of Media’, at its centre next to the library in Princess Street, Burnham.
Unlike many other art courses that tend to focus on one medium, this 10-week course will enable learners to experiment with three different paints, giving everyone a taste of what each paint can achieve, how to apply it, and how to use it.
Tutor Ade Bowen told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s a great beginner’s course for anybody who would like to start painting but is a bit nervous, but I have also found in the past that people who are using one type of paint like to come along to learn techniques and ideas form other mediums. This makes the classes a great creative boiling pot of ideas.”
The first course starts on Tuesday 1st March, from 10am to 12pm. It will cover the media of watercolour, acrylics and oils, pointing out the benefits and limitations of each and comparing them for suitability of subject.
To enrol, call 0845 688 0488 or visit the centre in Princess Street. For further information, email the tutor here.
