Hundreds of people flocked to a special family fun day to celebrate Somerset Day at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens on Saturday (May 14th).

The free event was held to celebrate the unique day, with stalls selling local produce such as cider and cakes set up in the seafront gardens, alongside live music, games, face painting and a barbecue.

Spectators enjoyed a line-up of live music through the day featuring Borderline, We Three, Lost In The Grass, We Three and Rustique.

Fundraiser Jason Vickers also bravely volunteered to go into a set of stocks for the day to have wet sponges thrown at him to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Kathy Jones of Burnham Events Social Team, which organised the event, told Burnham-On-Sea.com it had been a “great success” and thanked all those who had attended.
