A group of travellers who set up camp on Burnham-On-Sea’s seafront lawns have left this week.
The group of motorhomes and caravans moved onto the lawns on the South Esplanade and opposite the town’s sailing club.
Sedgemoor District Council began legal proceedings to get the travellers moved – and the threat worked with the vehicles leaving earlier this week.
District councillor Paul Herbert said at a council meeting: “Sedgemoor have been very quick to act on this.”
It came just days after a separate group of travellers left Burnham’s Pier Street car park after spending ten days in place there.
