Burnham-On-Sea’s Hillview Carnival Club has thanked spectators for their warm support at Monday’s carnival.
There were loud cheers all along the route for the club whose entry, called Luck Of The Irish, impressed the judges.
It came second in the juvenile class and also won the award for the best local entry and scooped the local Chairman’s Choice trophy.
Hillview Chairman Mark Bishop told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Nights like this make it all worthwhile.”
“We received great support. We were clapped and cheered all the way round – it was a fantastic crowd and thank everyone for the backing.”
It follows a difficult year for the club which considered pulling out of the carnival after losing several key volunteers but it has bounced back and its young members are rightly enjoying their success.
