A family of a dozen ducklings has been rescued after getting trapped down a road drain in Burnham-On-Sea.
Holly Chilton spotted a distressed duck standing by a drain and then realised the the young birds stranded inside.
Holly told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I was walking to a friend’s house in Burnham when I saw the female duck and gave her some of my sandwich but she wouldn’t eat and seemed distressed.”
“I noticed that she was hovering over a drain and looked down and discovered 12 ducklings stuck inside.”
“I removed the heavy drain cover and reached down and one by one picked out the ducklings and reunited them with their mum.”
“Once she had her ducklings the now-very-happy mother made her exit and I lost track of them. After spending an hour looking for them until finally at Apex finding Secret World bringing the ducklings back home onto the lake.”
