Burnham’s spectacular fireworks display may have dazzled spectators earlier this month – but organisers are already planning ahead for next year’s event by getting fundraising underway.
The Oaktree in Highbridge will be raising funds for the event over the coming year, starting with a ‘Quiz & Curry Night’ this evening (Friday 15th November) at The Oaktree.
Teams of four are being encouraged to sign up for the event, with the entry fee being £30 per team which includes a chicken curry meal. The general knowledge quiz will have a £100 prize for the winning team, whilst the runner-up will get £50.
Doors open at 6.45pm with the quiz getting underway at 7.30pm. Tickets (which must be bought in advance) are available from The Oaktree on 01278 782216.
“This is the first of what we intend to be a number of such fund-raising events towards the cost of the 2014 Firework Display, further details of which will appear on Burnham-On-Sea.com over the course of the year.”
