Burnham-On-Sea police have appealed for witnesses to come forward after a car slammed through a fence and into a garden early this morning (Sunday, April 10th).
Police were called to the junction of Apex Drive and Burnham Road at around 1am when a dark red Peugeot 106 smashed through the road sign and fence.
Resident Derrick Brown told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The police told us that investigations are underway after the car went straight through our fence. It was probably prevented going further in to the garden because it struck the road sign.”
“We didn’t hear a thing until 3am when the recovery truck arrived to tow the damaged car away. It was quite a shock, though, to see the damage.”
He added: “This is a dangerous road junction and I am surprised more accidents don’t occur.
