Burnham-On-Sea police have this week warned residents to be extra vigilant after metal thieves targeted a series of homes in the town.
Inspector Roger Tolley told Burnham-On-Sea.com on Monday that four homes in the town had been struck over the past week.
“On each occasion, the thieves have cut large sections of boiler condensation pipes from outside walls, presumably to trade on as scrap metal,” he said.
“Extra police have been introduced in the in the Priestley Way area of Burnham, but we would urge the public to be extra vigilant and to let us know if they see any suspicious people or activities.”
The metal thefts come just a week after Burnham-On-Sea.com reported here how thieves had also removed lead from properties in the town.
