Large crowds of visitors flocked into Burnham-On-Sea as warm spring weather meant the Easter holiday weekend was a prosperous one for local traders.
The town’s main beach was busy with families enjoying the warm weather while crowds of walkers thronged The Esplanade.
Alex Turco of the town’s Chamber of Trade told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It’s very good to see so many people in the town – we hope the weather stays fine for the whole weekend.”
By 10am on Saturday (April 7th), the majority of car parking spaces along the seafront were already occupied – and the town’s car park in Pier Street was also busy.
Holiday parks in the area have also reported good trade. A Burnham Holiday Village spokeswoman said it was fully booked several days ago, with no pitches remaining for tents or static caravans.
With warm weather predicted for the remainder of the weekend, roads in the Burnham and Brean area are also expected to be very busy.
