Pupils from a Burnham-On-Sea school have swapped their classroom for the Town Council chambers during a special visit to councillors.
Members of the St Andrew’s School Council met members of the Town Council, including Mayor Cllr Martin Cox and Town Clerk Denise Emery, during the visit to the council’s base in Jaycroft Road.
Headteacher Gavin Morris said: “The visit was arranged after meetings with Cllr Helen Groves, who is a parent of a child at our school.”
“Teacher Fred Debley, who organises our School Council, went along with the children on the visit. The children sat in councillors’ seats and used the microphones when asking questions etc.”
The Mayor thanked the St Andrew’s School Council for arranging the visit and was impressed by the youngsters’ questions.
