Fire crews from Burnham-On-Sea and Bridgwater have this afternoon (Monday, April 25th) been battling to bring a big grass fire under control.
Crews were called to River Road in Pawlett at 4pm, where a three acre field was ablaze.
Firefighters used hose reel jets to bring the fire under control and damp down the field, as pictured.
A fire spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com that the blaze had been started by winds blowing flames and sparks from a nearby controlled fire onto the dry grass.
“Extra care needs to be taken when setting controlled fires during this very dry weather. Fire can so easily spread,” he said.
