Concern for three people at Brean prompts Coastguard call-out

-

Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards rushed to Brean this morning (Saturday, May 7th) amid concern that several people had been cut off by the incoming tide.

A beach warden contacted Coastguards at 9.30am after spotting three people on the rocks at the foot of Brean Down.

However, a Coastguard spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “The call turned out to be a false alarm with good intent.”

“We made contact with the three people and it turned out that they were a student film crew who were aware of the tide conditions and were safe.”

“The beach warden did the right thing by contacting us and we would always advise anyone with concerns about the welfare of others to contact us.”
