A group of kind-hearted Burnham-On-Sea youngsters have given up their Christmas sweets to donate them to the town’s food bank.
Burnham-On-Sea Baptist Church’s Junior Youth Club has donated the confectionery to the Highbridge and Burnham Area Food Bank.
“The sweets will go to the children of families who will be using the Food Bank over the Christmas period,” said Pat Harris, Junior Youth Club leader.
“The children had a talk from youth club leaders about the Food Bank and they readily agreed to help other children to enjoy Christmas who are not as fortunate as themselves.”
The youth club is open to children aged 5-11 years old and meets on Friday evenings at the Baptist Church at 6 pm. Next term starts on Friday 10th January.
