Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove holding gardening school today

-

There is still time for families to take part in a free Gardening School at Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove today (Thursday) and Friday from 10am-noon.

The gardening school sessions, which are aimed at families, are taking place in the seafront gardens next to St Andrew’s Church through this week.

Community Gardener Jacqui Strong. said: “We will be designing and creating a bug hotel in the garden to encourage wildlife to take up residence and on Friday we will be creating a mini garden to take home and care for.”

“The sessions have been well received with families helping clear the formal beds with the help of the volunteers at the Friends of Marine Cove and having the chance to sow some seeds and spot the odd item photo sheet in the garden.”

If you would like to volunteer or know more information about the events happening in the gardens like this Sunday’s Jazz in the Cove from 2pm please contact jacqueline.strong@sedgemoor.gov.uk or call 01278 435435.

Green-fingered visitors will be able to learn basic gardening techniques including how to identify weeds, sow a seed, look after plants along with other useful gardening tips.
