Burnham-On-Sea Christmas lights display to feature on national TV

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Trinity Rise Christmas lights display is to be featured on national TV.

The eight houses will be starring in a documentary called Britain’s Craziest Christmas Lights, to be shown on Channel 5 on Christmas Day, and on breakfast televsion this Friday.

The homes have been decorated top-to-bottom with more than 100,000 lights and the display is open to the public from 4.20pm-10pm each night until January 5th.

The lights raised over £5,000 last year and £3,500 has already been raised in the first two weeks alone as the mild weather has boosted visitor numbers.

This year’s collection will go to PETAL: The Christine Woodberry Memorial Trust, Burnham’s rescue hovercraft charity BARB and the Musgrove Maternity Unit Trust Fund.

Roger Flower, one of the residents, said the reason they keep going over the years is due to the support and generosity shown by visitors every year.

“We get great satisfaction from seeing people enjoy the lights and because we are doing it for such worthwhile causes,” he said.
