A fundraising dog walk held in Highbridge on Boxing Day has raised over £120 for charity.
The ‘Festive Fun Wag and Walk’ was held at Apex Park in aid of Canine Partners, a registered charity that helps disabled people to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life with the help of specially-trained dogs.
The event encouraged dog lovers to walk off their Christmas excesses while raising money and organisers Nick and Carole Pope provided half hour or hour walks around the park.
“We had a good turnout of dog walkers and their pets and hope this is the start of several events to raise funds for this good cause,” Nick told Burnham-On-Sea.com. “Good fun was had by all and we have raised £124.10 so far.”
