Motorists travelling through Highbridge have been warned to expect delays when further roadworks take place this month.
Part of Burnham Road will be closed to all traffic from Monday (January 6th) while ‘essential’ underground work is carried out.
Somerset County Council spokesman Peter Elliott told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “Burnham Road will be closed from the Church Street roundabout to the junction with Church Road for gas mains replacement.”
“The work will go ahead throughout the month of January and are expected to last four weeks.”
The latest disruption comes as part of ongoing work by Western Gas Alliance that started last autumn.
Traffic lights have been in place throughout the work, leading to queues of vehicles at busy times of the day.
