Two hardy souls braved the chilly waters of the Bristol Channel at Brean on Wednesday to complete a challenge of taking a New Year’s Day sea swim.
Heavy rain and strong winds failed to halt Dan Curl and Christine Vogelsang, from Bristol, from completing the dip.
Dan told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “It is totally out of character for us – we work together as colleagues – and have not done something like this before.”
“When it was mentioned in the office as a bit of a challenge, we got talking about it and decided to go through with it!”
“The water was very cold – really bitter in fact – but the air temperature felt relatively warm when we got out.”
“We wanted to get the year off to fresh start by doing something completely different and definitely done that. We are now thinking about doing the Three Peaks Challenge later in the year.”
