Members of Highbridge’s Monarchs Gymnastics Club have been celebrating this week after holding their annual awards ceremony.
The group’s awards ceremony was held at Burnham’s Ritz Social Club, where Cllr Neville Jones, the club’s honorary president, presented the trophies.
Mandy Warburton, the club’s spokeswoman, said the event was well supported from gymnasts and their families.
The results for the top gymnasts were presented across the age groups, for 8 years and under (Emily Murphy and Thomas Hicks), 11 years and under (Sophie McGrath and Joe Reed), 14 and under (Olivia Augar and Charlie Dymond), 15 years plus (Alice Dymond and Chloe Hayes).
The awards for the overall senior went to Alice Dymond and to the overall junior member to Olivia Augar.
“All of the gymnasts in the club were presented with certificates marking their individual achievements throughout 2013,” added Mandy.
The ceremony was hosted by Paul Shepherd (Shep) and Bruce Reed, and included the screening of a video named ‘From then until now’ which featured the club’s move to an empty warehouse and then focussed on the club’s many successful competitions and displays.
The fundraising committee made up of parents organised the event with the help of the club’s coaches.
