Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge MP James Heappey is to hold a special event for local people suffering with poor broadband to discuss the issue with technical experts and find out how to get faster speeds.
MP James Heappey will host the ‘Faster Broadband Fair’ at Draycott Memorial Hall on Thursday 1st September.
The event will be open to the public from 12-4pm when BT Openreach and the Connecting Devon & Somerset team will be on hand to answer questions about achieving better speeds.
“Broadband connectivity remains a key concern for so many people living locally,” said Mr Heappey.
“The success of the rollout elsewhere is no consolation to those who are left with unimproved speeds.”
“So whilst I very much welcome incredible pace at which homes across the Wells Constituency are now being connected, I wanted to hold this event so that those with slow speeds can come and find out what alternatives might be available.”
“People can also find out about the voucher scheme currently being offered by Connecting Devon & Somerset which will contribute significantly to the costs of an alternative technology.”
“With so many different technologies being exhibited and with Openreach, BT and other service providers all in attendance, I hope residents from across the Wells Constituency will be able to attend to find out more about what local and national Government is doing to speed up connections.”
