Two benches outside Burnham-On-Sea’s Marine Cove gardens were wrecked by vandals at the weekend – the latest in a series of incidents there.
Burnham town councillor Neville Jones said the benches “were completely wrecked by vandals – it’s so sad to see this happening after so much work has been put in there.”
Town Council Clerk Denise Emery said the benches have been removed and were “beyond repair”, adding that the council’s Policy and Finance Committee will consider buying replacements.
Police have appealed to anyone with information about the latest damage to call them on the non-emergency number 101.
£10,000 of damage was caused to the gardens last October and two people are due in court regarding the incident later this year.
