A group of Scouts from Burnham-On-Sea have completed a 15-mile sponsored cycle ride.

Sarah Rendell, 1st Burnham on Sea Scout Group Chairperson, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “All of the Scouts did fantastically well on their sponsored cycle ride.”

Saturday’s event saw them start at Yatton railway station and then ride to Shute Shelve Hill.

They then rode back to Winscombe railway station and enjoyed a well-earned stop for lunch before completing their ride back to Yatton railway station.

“Thank you to everyone that kindly sponsored the Scouts. The money raised will go towards new Scouting equipment,” added Sarah.

Meanwhile, Burnham Scouts are holding a family quiz this Saturday, 17th September, at the Scout hut at the BASC Ground. The cost will be just £1 per person with teams of up to six. There will be prizes for the three highest scoring teams. There’s also a bar, BBQ and a raffle.
