Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival Committee is to hold a special ‘Thank You’ event this month to thank some of those who have helped the event over the past seven decades.
This year, the carnival is celebrating its 70th anniversary in Burnham and Highbridge, and the organisers say they want to make it as special as possible.
The evening to thank supporters and encourage new helpers to come forward will be held on September 23rd at Burnham Football Club, between 7pm and 9pm, next to The Bay Centre in Cassis Close.
“We would like to take the opportunity to thank those who have helped us so much in previous years and to talk to those interested in becoming involved in Carnival,” said Sam Archer, Highbridge and Burnham Carnival Secretary.
“We welcome individuals or those representing organisations and businesses. The evening will be a great opportunity to find out more about what goes on behind the scenes.”
“The evening is open to everyone. There will be a few short talks on some of the different aspects of Carnival, then an opportunity for visitors to wander around and talk to members of the committee.”
The 70th annual Highbridge and Burnham-On-Sea Carnival will be held on Monday November 7th at 7.30pm.
