Members of Highbridge In Bloom are making final preparations for this week’s visit by judges from the Britain In Bloom competition.
The group has been sprucing up the town centre and the railway station ahead of the judging tomorrow (Thursday, July 7th).
Pam Lyes from the bloom team told Burnham-On-Sea.com they had received good support from the community again this year.
“We are grateful to everyone who’s helped us – our displays are looking really superb. We have nine new hanging baskets plus new displays in the railway station and new flower containers at Asda and several other spots.”
The youngsters from Highbridge’s Dreamscheme have again helped this year’s entry by placing hanging baskets along Church Street and also designing colourful flower-themed posters which are on display on the platform at the town’s railway station.
“We are ready for Thursday’s visit by the judges and have our fingers crossed that it all goes well,” added Pam.
Burnham is also making its own preparations for the judges visit next Monday. Both Burnham and Highbridge received silver gilt awards in 2010 and there are high hopes that both towns will do well again this year.
