Campaigners fighting to save Burnham-On-Sea’s closure-threatened swimming pool are set to hear on Tuesday (April 8th) whether new owners have been found to take it over.
Hopes are high that a new owner has been found to take over the facility after Sedgemoor District Council recently confirmed a bidder is interested in taking over the pool.
An official announcement is due to be made at a press conference organised by Sedgemoor District Council at 12.30pm in Burnham Community Hall.
Burnham-On-Sea.com understands that “very good news” is set to be announced, although the district council’s Executive Committee will have the final say on any deal at 9.30am.
Campaigners from Burnham’s Save Our Swim (SOS) group will either break open their champagne bottles in celebration – or drown their sorrows in despair – according to the decision.
A public meeting to discuss the decision will also take place at 6pm on Tuesday evening at the Princess Hall.
Burnham-On-Sea.com will have full coverage of the pool announcement throughout Tuesday.
