More than 100 people flocked to a fundraiser for Burnham-On-Sea’s War Memorial Hospital on Saturday evening (October 8th).
The Friends Of Burnham Hospital organised a Music Night at the Oaktree Arena in Highbridge to raise money for the hospital’s work.
The audience enjoyed a meal and entertainment provided by the King Alfred Concert Band and The Ambassadors of Jazz.
Friends Chairman Bernard Spilsbury told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “We had a great turnout and thank everyone who came along for their support.”
The group’s Secretary Eileen Shaw added: “It was a fantastic evening – we sold 105 tickets in all and a special thank you goes to the Oaktree for hosting the event and giving us their continuing support.”
A final figure on how much was raised will be known in coming days. The Friends Of Burnham Hospital’s next event will be a carol concert on December 1st at Burnham Methodist Church, starting at 7pm, when entry will be free and entertainment will be provided by Burnham-On-Sea U3A Choir.
