Burnham-On-Sea Library is set to launch a six-week course on calligraphy writing this autumn.
Starting on 31st October, the course is aimed at anyone with an interest in learning the art of beautiful writing, from basic Roman letterforms to Gothic and decorated verse.
A spokesman said: “This is a great opportunity to learn a new skill in time for writing those Christmas cards and letters – it’s so much more personal than sending a typed letter or email!”
The course will be professionally led, and beginners are very welcome. Book by calling 0300 123 2224 and ask for Burnham Library or email bhmlib@somerset.gov.uk (payment required to secure place).
The first session will be held on Monday 31st October, from 10.30am-12noon at Burnham Library in Princess Street. Cost £25.00. Booking is essential.
