Burnham-On-Sea Coastguards were called to Brean Down on Saturday evening (July 30th) amid concern for two teenagers cut off by the incoming tide.
Two members of the public who were climbing on the cliffs nearby managed to escort the teenage girls to safety.
“The girls were wet and shaken but otherwise unharmed and were checked over by paramedics at the scene before being released,” a spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
A lifeboat from Burnham-On-Sea was paged but was stood down before arriving on scene.
