Every food premises in Sedgemoor is being inspected by the district council’s Food Safety Team who give ratings on how well the premises comply with legal requirements, cleanliness and structure.

The other five star premises in the Burnham area are RJ’s at Unity Farm in Brean, The White Cottage at West Huntspill, Burnham Nursing Home, RABI Burnham, Highbridge’s King Alfred School and the Total Convenience Store in Highbridge.

Anna Hardman, Sedgemoor’s Food Safety Manager, said: “This is not a competition nor an award scheme but a system that allows customers and clients to see how their school, hospital, favourite sandwich bar or special occasion restaurant complies with food hygiene regulations.”
