New head coach appointed at Burnham’s Avenue Tennis Club

-

Burnham-On-Sea’s Avenue Tennis Club has appointed a new head tennis coach.

Following the recent retirement of Vinny Duddy, his replacement is Jonathan Horn, 29, or Jonny as he likes to be known.

Jonny is an experienced senior tennis coach with the LTA Level 4 qualification. He was previously a coach at two Glasgow tennis clubs and significantly developed their coaching programmes and membership.

In 2013 he trained at The Global Tennis Academy, the internationally renowned Spanish performance tennis academy under Jofre Porta who is well known for coaching Rafa Nadal and Carlos Moya on the way to their first grand slam tennis titles.

The Avenue Tennis Club, through Jonny and his coaching team, is offering a fully comprehensive coaching programme for all abilities and ages. This includes mini tennis for younger players, cardio tennis, and Tennis Xpress classes which are supported by Sedgemoor District Council under its ‘wellbeing sports programme’. Tennis Xpress is aimed at adult beginners or those returning to tennis after a break. Further information is available from the club on 01278 782758.
