Calm weather combined with one of the highest tides of the year generated these idyllic scenes in Burnham-On-Sea on Tuesday evening (August 30th).
The 11.79 metre high tide was among the six highest tides of 2011 and swept beaches clean of litter and reached the foot of the dunes at Berrow and Brean.
Beach wardens took plenty of precautions in ensuring the beaches at Burnham, Brean and Berrow were clear of all vehicles well ahead of the tide reaching its peak.
Three vehicles have got into difficulty in the area over the past fortnight. The high tide will be repeated again on Wednesday evening (August 31st) when the tide peaks slightly at 9.24pm.
