Police are appealing for witnesses after two men were assaulted in a homophobic attack in Brean, near Burnham-On-Sea, earlier this week.
The men, aged 35 and 20 years, were drinking in the centre of Brean (pictured) at Krackers pub shortly after 10pm on Monday (June 9th).
When the two men began to walk away from the bar, a short time later they were approached by two men with two other women.
The men made homophobic remarks to the victims, before one of the men then punched both of the victims to the floor. He was carrying a heavy torch which was believed to have been used in the attack.
“One of the victims suffered a fractured nose, cheekbone and severe facial swelling as a result of the attack, while the other also suffered a head injury,” a police spokesman told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
“The main attacker was a white male aged 20 years, 5ft 9ins tall with a stocky build and wearing a white baseball hat, grey hooded top and was carrying a torch.”
“The second male was white, the same age and height, with a slim build and wearing blue jeans.”
Police would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or might have been in the area at the time. Anyone with informationn should contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
