Messages of support have this week been made to a former Mayor of Burnham-On-Sea and Highbridge who is recovering after a serious accident.
Hilary Rose – who served as Mayor between 1995 and 1998 – was rushed to hospital after suffering a fall in her home in which she broke her hip.
Hilary, who is Chairman of the Unit Management Committee of Burnham Sea Cadets and a former town coucillor, needed an emergency operation and is now recovering.
Burnham’s current Mayor, Cllr Michael Clarke, told Burnham-On-Sea.com this week he was shocked to hear the news.
“Everyone at the Town Council passes on our very best wishes to Hilary for a full and speedy recovery,” he said.
And Matt Harkness from Bunham Sea Cadets added: “We at Sea Cadets are also shocked by the news. Hilary has been a stalwart supporter of the unit for many years and we hope she makes a speedy recovery.”
