Hot summer weather attracted large crowds to Brent Knoll’s annual fete on Saturday afternoon (June 14th).
The event was opened by Tim Dean, the village’s postman, and featured entertainment from Brent Knoll School’s dancers, the Chalice Morris Men, and a group of traditonal dancers from the Phillipines.
There were also more than a dozen stalls on the village green offering traditional raffles, tombolas, refreshments, face painting and a coconut shy. The event is expected to have raised a large sum for the vilage’s parish hall.

Tim Dean, Brent Knoll’s postman for over 11 years, officially opened the event and stunned the crowd when he said this year’s fete would be the last because a new wind farm is to be built on the village green. Fortunately, it was just a joke!
