Weather forecasters are predicting the Burnham-On-Sea area will see stormy weather on Monday (September 12th) while a former hurricane passes over northern parts of the UK.
But while the southwesterly winds from former Hurricane Katia will gust to gale force at times, the Burnham area will miss the worst of the conditions.
During Monday, the Burnham area will see gusts of around 50mph.
“Hurricane Katia is now a post-tropical depression and over the coming hours the system is expected to further weaken and continue to move northeastwards across the Atlantic, affecting northern UK on Monday,” a Met Office forecaster said on Sunday.
The winds are expected to be weakening by the time Monday evening’s 10.8m tide reaches its peak in Burnham at 7.17pm, although stormy sea conditions are still expected.
