Almost 120 runners from across the South West took part in a gruelling race from Burnham-On-Sea to the top of Brent Knoll and back on Sunday (November 27th).
The annual Brent Knoll Run was won by Keiran Young, right, from Wells City Harriers in a time of 36 minutes and 58 seconds – the second consecutive year he has won.
The first local finisher was Matt Powell from Burnham Hariers running club in a time of 47:28. Click here for the full Brent Knoll Run 2016 Results.
Meanwhile, Matt Powell and Tracey Thomas won the first Local Runner Shields in memory of Arthur Gilbert and Sheila Bake, two well-known former members of the Harriers who have passed away in recent years.
Co-organiser Stuart Anderson from Burnham Harriers Running Club said club was pleased with the turnout and how the event had gone.
The Brent Knoll Run has been held for more than 20 years, having originally started as an event attached to Brent Knoll’s summer fete.
