A Burnham-On-Sea bride-to-be experienced a hen party with a difference when she and her pals had a fish pedicure spa!
Jennie Dale and friends spent the evening in the Fishy Feet beauty spa in Burnham’s Abingdon Street, which offers the garra rufa health craze.
The treatment involves customers immersing their feet in warm water tanks filled with the tiny toothless fish.
People with skin conditions benefit the most since the fish nibble away dead skin but leave the healthy skin intact.
Jennie, a former King Alfred School student, told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “I love foot spas and am a big fan of the garra rufa treatment – it’s so relaxing.”
She added: “I wanted my hen party to be fun and memorable, and something that everyone could join in, so this was the obvious choice!”
The spa’s Vicki Briggs told Burnham-On-Sea.com: “This was our first hen party, and everyone had a great evening!”
The Burnham spa opened earlier this year and has dozens of the fish in its four tanks. The treatment is being offered at £10 per 15-minute session or £20 for 35-minute sessions.
In addition to removing dead skin, the deep cleansing treatment also helps stimulate blood circulation and muscle relaxation.
